TrashPro founder Robb Willis first discovered the power of municipalities sharing trash services when he took on a feasibility study to discover liabilities for eleven municipalities within Burlington County. When the study concluded, Robb presented his findings to the eleven municipalities and they decided to implement his suggestions, joining together to share services. The Joint Purchasing Program MACCS™ (Municipal Apartment Condominium Collection Service) was started in 2004 to encompass 97 properties and 16,000 multi-family units. The shared services program saved these municipalities an impressive $650,000 a year over a 5 year period of time, a total of $3.25 million.

Based on the success of MACCS™, the program was expanded in April 2009 with the addition of three new municipalities to encompass a new total of 135 properties and 23,000 units. It is estimated that TrashPro will save $4.3 million collectively over the next five years for these municipalities.

The success of MACCS™ for apartments and condominiums led to the creation of a Municipal Regional Residential Trash Service (MRRTS™). MRRTS™ does for single-family residential homes what MACCS™ does for multi-family housing complexes.
